Terms of use
The terms on which you may use this website. Last updated 9 September 2026.
These terms cover this website only. They are not the terms of any building work. If we quote for a project, the terms of that job are the ones in the written quotation and contract we agree with you — nothing on this page changes them, and nothing on this page takes away rights you have as a consumer.
1. Who we are, and what these terms cover
This site is operated by Smiley Bespoke (bespoke timber structures), Hampshire Based - UK-wide. You can reach us at freddiesmiley@hotmail.com or 07401046334. By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. Your permission to use this site
You may look at these pages, and print or save extracts, for your own use or to share with anyone involved in your project — an architect, a school's governors, a partner. You do not need to ask us for that. What you may not do with our photographs and words is in section 4, and what you may not do to the site itself is in section 5.
3. What the information here is for
The pages describing our work, services, timescales and prices are there to help you decide whether to talk to us. They are not an offer and they are not a quotation. Every project is different — site access, ground conditions, timber, span and finish all move the figure — so nothing here is a price you can hold us to. A price becomes a price when we have seen the site and put it in writing.
We take care to keep the site accurate and up to date, but we do not promise it is free of errors or that it is complete. Photographs show work we have actually done; they are examples, not a specification of what yours will look like.
4. Copyright, and what you may do with our photographs
Unless we say otherwise, everything on this site — the photographs, the words, the layout and our name and logo — belongs to us or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright. You are welcome to link to any page. You may not republish our photographs elsewhere without asking; we usually say yes, so please just ask.
5. Acceptable use
You may look at these pages, and print or download extracts, for your own use or to share with people involved in your project. Please do not:
- copy our photographs or text to use commercially, or present our work as someone else's;
- use the enquiry form to send advertising, or anything unlawful, abusive or deliberately false;
- try to break into, overload or interfere with the site, or with any server it runs on;
- collect data from the site automatically, whether by scraping, crawling for reuse, or similar.
6. Enquiries and anything you send us
Sending an enquiry does not create a contract and does not oblige either of us to anything. We read every one and aim to reply within two working days. What we do with the information you send is set out in our privacy notice.
If you send us photographs of your site or garden so we can quote, you keep ownership of them. You are giving us permission to use them for that purpose only — to understand the job and price it. We will not publish a photograph you sent us without asking you first. Please only send photographs you are entitled to send, and do not send anything unlawful or that belongs to someone else.
7. Links to other websites
Where we link somewhere else, it is because we think it is useful. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
8. Our responsibility to you
We do not exclude or limit our liability to you in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for fraud.
Beyond that, this website is provided as it is. We are not liable for loss caused by relying on general information here rather than on a written quotation — for example, budgeting a project from an indicative figure on a services page. If you are a business rather than a consumer, we are not liable for loss of profits, loss of business or any indirect loss arising from your use of this site.
None of this affects your legal rights as a consumer, including your rights over work we carry out for you.
9. Accessibility
We have built this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at level AA, and we test it against that standard. If you have trouble using any part of it, please email freddiesmiley@hotmail.com and tell us what got in your way — we will fix it and, in the meantime, give you the same information another way.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies is the one published when you use the site, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed.
11. If one part does not hold
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. That part will apply in the narrowest way that is lawful, and if it cannot apply at all it will be treated as removed.
12. Transferring these terms
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another business — if this one is sold, for example. Your rights would not be affected. You may not transfer yours without our written agreement.
13. Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and us. Nobody else has any right to enforce them. Together with our privacy notice and our cookie policy, they are the whole of what governs your use of this website. If we do not insist on something straight away, we can still do so later.
14. Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
15. Business details required by law
The Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 require a business website to give certain details. Ours are:

- Telephone: 07401046334
