Cookie policy
Browsing this website sets no cookies, and nothing here tracks you. Last updated 9 September 2026.
There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to. We use no analytics, no advertising cookies and no tracking of any kind. This page explains what that means and sets out the one cookie the website can set, so you can check for yourself.
1. About cookies
A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store on your device, and that your browser sends back on later visits. It lets a site recognise your device. Cookies are either:
- Session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser; or
- Persistent cookies, which stay until they reach an expiry date or you delete them.
They are also either first-party (set by the site you are visiting) or third-party (set by another company whose content the page loads — an advert, an embedded video, an analytics script). Third-party cookies are how browsing is followed from site to site.
Under UK law — the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations — a website must get your permission before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary for something you asked it to do. That is why most sites interrupt you with a banner.
2. Cookies we use
Reading these pages sets no cookies at all. The homepage, our work, services, the contact form — none of them store anything on your device. There is one cookie on this website, and it is only ever set for our own staff signing in to update the site:
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| gh_oauth_state | Security. Set only when a member of our team signs in to the tool we use to edit this website, to confirm the sign-in is genuine and not forged by someone else. Strictly necessary, so no consent is required. A visitor never receives it. | First-party | 10 minutes |
There is deliberately nothing else. In particular, this site has:
- no analytics — we do not count visits, and we do not know you were here;
- no advertising or retargeting cookies — you will not see ads for us following you around;
- no tag manager and no marketing tools;
- no embedded maps, videos or social feeds — those load from other companies and are how most sites pass visits to third parties without meaning to;
- no fonts from a font network — ours are served from this site, so loading a page does not tell anyone else you visited.
3. Cookies used by our service providers
None. No third party sets a cookie through this website, because no third-party content loads on it.
One thing worth naming for completeness, because it is a request to another company even though it is not a cookie: our host, Cloudflare, asks browsers to report failed network connections back to them so faults get noticed and fixed. It stores nothing on your device, builds no profile of you, and is not used for analytics or advertising.
The enquiry form on our contact page also sets no cookie. It carries a hidden timestamp of when the page loaded, which only helps us spot automated spam, and we briefly count submissions against the network address they came from so that one machine cannot flood us. Both are sent with the form rather than stored on your device, and the count is discarded within the day. What happens to the details you type is set out in our privacy notice.
4. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings, and you can do it for this site specifically or for every site. Bear in mind that blocking cookies everywhere stops many websites working properly — though it will make no difference here, since browsing this one sets none.
Since we do not track anyone, there is also nothing here for a "Do Not Track" setting or a privacy extension to block.
5. Changes to this policy
If we ever add something that needs a cookie or measures how the site is used, we will ask your permission first — properly, before it loads, rather than with a banner that has already set it — and the table above will say what it is, what it does and how long it lasts. The date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed.
